Made In Napa Valley

It’s such a treat to discover products that make me appear to be a better cook than I am! And getting to know the creator of those products, Catherine Bergen, is even more of a treat. Catherine's Made In Napa Valley products, which include balsamic vinegars, marinades, savory sauces, herb rubs, tapenades, mustards, (and the list goes on), are so delicious and such time savers, you’ll wonder how you’ve gotten along without them. To compliment her products, Catherine has published a beautiful cookbook, making life even easier.

On the website, http://www.madeinnapavalley.com/, you will find mouth-watering recipes and photographs, along with MENU suggestions (what a great idea!). Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Balsamic Reduction is a big hit. My guests LOVE it and always ask for the recipe (the ultimate compliment).

Ordering the products and cookbook on line is easy, and there you can search for retail locations that sell Made In Napa Valley products in your area.

Time to make dinner…think I’ll make the Chicken Packets with Artichokes & Mushrooms. Yum! See you at www.platinumpearls.ning.com !

Local and Fresh!

Life in Napa Valley…beautiful mountains and picturesque vineyards abound, and offerings of locally produced foods and products are gracious plenty (not to mention the wine!). One gets used to having these local products.

I can venture upvalley for a gallon of my "every day" olive oil or VSOP (very special old product) balsamic vinegar, drive south of town for specialty spice rubs, savory sauces and vinegars or heirloom dried beans. I only have to go around the block for unique products made with pears, or find my way along the Napa River for Meyer lemon olive oil, honeys and jams. This is a special part of life here. Getting to know the creative, passionate and fun people who make these products is the icing on the cake!

Check back here often and at my blog on platinumpearls.com . I'll be giving you the sources for my Delightful Discoveries.
